Stage 1 of the project is to develop an estimating software application that can integrate and/or eliminate several Excel driven estimating tools,SQL databases and SolidWorks. (Standalone deliverable for this project)

a. The software should be able to integrate with our current business software SQL database to retrieve current part numbers and costs.

b. The software would be able to integrate with different excel documents used to pull in pricing for purchased products

c. The software should be able to store all data relative to the quotation into a SQL database for information about the quotation itself plus detailed information about each line item

d. The software should be able to retrieve quote information at time of order and generate all necessary documentation used to create an order.

e. The software should be able to save and retrieve quote information at any time for editing.

f. The software should generate a standard file structure for data storage outside of the SQL database.

g. The software should generate a design table that can be integrated with SolidWorks for generation of models/drawings.

Stage 2 (separate deliverable not necessarily for this project but needs to be considered). Software specifically for the engineering of our product using formulas that currently reside inside of an excel workbook.

a. The engineering add-on will be a separate module that will store all data related to design of each component on a quote inside of the same SQL database used for estimating.

b. The engineering add-on will in the same manner as the estimating portion of the program, be able to retrieve and edit engineering data on each line item of the project.

c. The engineering add-on will then export all required data to the estimating software for quotation and generation of all required documentation.
